Good afternoon! They say that we’re past peak leaves here in New England, but even so, the trees have never looked as beautiful as they do right now. I’ve been spending as much time outside as I possibly can to soak up what may very well be my last true fall in the north east. Quite a bittersweet prospect.
This second installment of the Fall Uniform series reflects the newly changing weather. It’s a little bit colder now than at the beginning of the month, and I’ve had to break into my sweater stash more and more often as the leaves start to fall. My go-to’s have definitely been this soft, slouchy tank from Everlane and my very favorite work shirt from Madewell. Just enough substance to provide coverage, but not too bulky (and therefore ideal for a mid-fall uniform). I’m still majorly feeling the Madewell denim kick (really and truly the best jeans I’ve ever owned), so they’ve also made the transition with me over into autumn.
Last holiday season, I was gifted with a Barbour Jacket that has become my perennial go-to coat for almost every season. The green is extremely versatile, and the weight is awesome for layering (I recommend thinsulate if you can get it). Barbours are also meant to last a lifetime, which means this coat is basically impervious to whatever elements you throw at it.
Finally, the rose gold tumbler was a serendipitous find at Starbucks. I’m usually underwhelmed by Starbucks merchandise, but this pretty thermos caught my eye, and I’ve used it every day since. If you’re a fan of the pumpkin-spice-everything trend (and really, who isn’t?), this might be a good investment. Word of caution: the top is drippy, so drop at your own risk.
What are you guys wearing this fall? Let me know! Have a great day :)
