This week on Instagram…
Un. It’s crazy how a polaroid can express your mood more completely than your words. Though these photographs were taken as an experiment in overexposure, the tension and anxiety that I was feeling is pretty palpable. I was reaching a brick wall with my job and lacked the direction to move forward, while Sebastian came to a major stall with his business. Both issues have since been resolved, but the tensions were running high and taking a huge toll on both of us. Not a great place to be in, and I’m glad it’s over and done with.
Deux. And they say there is no fall in California. Blasphemy! Okay, okay, I’ll admit that the fall here is way more subdued than the fall I grew used to in New England. However, the discovery of crunchy leaves and fall hues was extremely welcome around these parts. It’s not quite warm and it’s not quite cold, and I can finally wear a sweater and not feel totally overdressed for the weather. And, there is nowhere on earth where fall boots are inappropriate. NOWHERE. Particularly not in San Francisco, California.
Trois. You know what’s not that fun? Having to commute for four hours a day. You know what makes that commute more bearable? Friends who sit and converse with you to make the hours feel like nothing at all. This being the season of thankfulness, I find myself being extra thankful for the friends I’ve made over the past couple of years. It’s no small blessing to find someone who’ll vacillate between discussing the Higgs-Boson particle and the Avengers with you over a bowl of ramen on a Tuesday night.
So what are you thinking about this week?
