Guys, it’s official. As of this morning, I have become professionally exhausted. It seems that I can’t get through even a few hours without feeling the strong urge to run back to my room, pull my duvet over my head, and sleep for the rest of the day. It’s not even that I’m particularly busy. Sure, I have a lot to do, but I think my exhaustion stems more from mental overload than anything else. I feel like I have a million things running through my brain at any moment, and that kind of thought process can be pretty taxing. Not to mention that this year is flying by; I feel like last week it was the beginning of October, and now all of a sudden we’re zipping into November. Dear world, I could use a bit of a slower pace, please.
Consequently, my music selection over the past couple of weeks has been a return to some old favorites. I view many of these songs as the musical equivalent to comfort food – some songs that have gotten me through hard times in the past, others that have punctuated some of my happiest moments. Especially now, when everything seems in flux, it’s nice to keep myself grounded with these familiar tunes. Interestingly enough, Welcome Home, Son by Radical Face was a song that I discovered in November of LAST year, but I think the energy and progression of the song meshes quite beautifully with this particular month. Walking On a Dream, on the other hand, has been in my rotating playlist forever, and I often return to it when I need a quick pick-me-up.
What are you guys listening to this week? Let me know in the comments!!
